Prof. Hongfei Zheng has been carrying out research for thirty years in solar energy applications including high temperature collector, desalination, air conditioning, solar concentration and daylighting. Prof. Zheng has published more than 200 refereed papers (more than 60papers was published in international Journals, especially in Desalination, Solar Energy and Energy Convers and Management) and 6 monographs. He has obtained 25 patents. He worked in Nottingham University in UK as a visiting professor from 2012.3~2013.9. During this period, he completed the European Commission for a Marie Curie Fellowship grant (PIIF-GA-2010-275038). He also worked in Demark Technology of University (DTU) as a visiting professor from 2015.1~2015.4.
Abstract:This work present solar steam generation system with large-scale line-focus Fresnel lenses. The large-scale Fresnel lens is a cylindrical shaped lens, which has 1300mm lighting width and 1500mm focal length, showed in Fig.1. The geometric concentration ratio is about 30. The receiver of it is straight-flow evacuated tube. The working fluid is conductive oil and it can be easily heated to be higher than 300? so that it can realize high temperature concentration. The cylindrical Fresnel lens has several advantages such as uneasy to accumulate dust, rain and snow, low resistance of wind lord and low requirement for tracking mechanism and most important, cylindrical Fresnel lens has higher transmittance than other curve-lenses. This kind of concentrator is applied on a steam generation system, which consist of concentrator array, heat storage tank, steam generator, auxiliary heater and controller. During the sunny day, the solar energy collected by Fresnel concentrator is stored in heat storage tank, and it can be carried into steam generator to produce vapor. When in the earlier morning and later afternoon, or in the cloudy day, the solar energy cannot satisfy the heat consumption. In this case, the auxiliary heater will provide heat energy to make sure the steam generator operation normally.
